Dear Community,
As co-founders of our beloved Evanston Pride, we have always been deeply committed to serving our community and making a positive impact together. However, we want to share an important update regarding our current activities.
You may have noticed a drastic drop in activity from Evanston Pride in recent months. After 6 years of running this organization, only a small core group has been actively managing our initiatives. While we are proud of what we've accomplished together, we need a break!
We believe that true community involvement flourishes with diverse participation and a shared commitment. It has become clear that we need additional support to thrive and continue making a difference. We know many of you have the passion, skills, and ideas that could help us grow and evolve.
If you’ve missed our activities and share our vision for a vibrant future, we invite you to step forward. We’re looking for individuals who are eager to contribute their time, talent, and fresh perspectives. Together, we can revitalize our mission, enhance our programs, and ensure that we remain a valuable resource for our community.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding as we navigate this transition. We look forward to hearing from those who are ready to join us in this journey.

Evanston Pride stands united for a fair and just criminal justice system. Although the trial for the murder of George Floyd has come to a close, it captured the attention of our nation and became a symbol for the systemic racism and historical trauma experienced by individuals and communities across the country. The recent guilty verdict marks a critical step toward equality in justice even though we know this single verdict will not undue the legacy of racism and oppression within the country. The LGBTQIA+ MUST be relentless in our efforts to combat systemic injustice, and elevate the voices of all victims and survivors of crime. As we recognize the historical significance of the verdict, Evanston Pride recognizes and remembers the loss and suffering to the family of George Floyd.
OUR PURPOSE:
The purpose of Evanston Pride, Inc. is to organize and support the full spectrum of local LGBTQIA+ community members through specialized programming and training efforts. The organization will help amplify LGBTQIA+ voices, and educate the broader Evanston community on LGBTQIA+ issues and needs.
WHAT WE’RE DOING RIGHT NOW:
FIRST, WE SEEK LGBTQIA+ COMMUNITY MEMBERS WHO LIVE OR WORK IN EVANSTON. NEXT, WE SEEK TO LISTEN TO THEM.
